Question:
I have 3 general questions about Glucosamine Chondrotin (GC):
1. How long does it take for one to start feeling the positive effects of GC?
Is it days, weeks or months? I know everyone is different but there should be a general time frame.
2. I am 57 and don't think I have arthritis yet. I currently have a slight pain in my right hip when I sit down for more than 10 minutes. I gets slightly worse when I drive a car for more than a hour. Could this be arthritis?
3. I have seen advertisements for a liquid form of GC. It says the body absorbs more in liquid vs pill form. Does anyone know if the there is any truth to this? If yes, why are most forms of GC sold in pill form? Does anyone know of any links that might discuss this? One of the references quotes is the
"Physicians Desk Reference Library" or similar (can't remember the exact name) that says vitamins in pill form are only 10% absorbed vs 90 - 100% absorbed for the liquid form.

Can anyone shed any insights on this topic?

It is rather simple diagnostically to find out if you have osteoarthritis which would be the kind of arthritis that at some time has an age correlation. I would strongly suggest getting the x-rays you need to begin a diagnostic process.

I have a friend who is a chiropractor who swears that liquid glucosamine is more easily absorbed. Often liquid supplements are more easlily absorbed.

My RD personally takes liquid as she thinks it stands a better chance of having fewer impurities that cap form. I take a cap (a brand that got gooe ratings from Dr. Theo's website).
